"Cottage in the Woods" Rental
The views from this log cottage are outstanding, majestic and magical to say the least! With a south-west exposure it gets a lot of sun and warmth. The master bedroom has it's own access to the deck, a walk in closet and an on-suite bathroom full of Old Victorian charm. The quaint kitchen is situated below an additional loft area and is part of the grand room with the warmth of a genuine rock floor and wood stove. This Cottage has a special healing energy of it's own that is appreciated by anyone who spends time there. Enjoy the gentle yet sophisticated art on the walls as decor' to suit the naturalist and plenty of deck and outdoor living to explore. This cottage is full of color and vibrancy with that modern retro flare. The master bedroom has a sampling of stacked log construction with access to a private deck and gorgeous views of the lake. The vaulted ceiling throughout is log construction and lends itself to romance with an elegant claw foot tub in the bathroom. Enjoy sitting in the solarium to have breakfast and to read a good book next to the warmth of a fire from the wood stove. The expansive gardens and orchard to the north west are an example of the "Kootenay Lake Lifestyle" that we all enjoy here, feel free to access walking trails through the forest or pick some fruit, berries or produce from the garden while you are here.
The Lofty Barn is a new addition to the property as an available Cottage for rent. It belongs to the second building on the property that used to be the large barn. Over many years it has been modernized with a lot of love and attention and boasts of the best views of the lake from the highest point being the upper loft area. This means that there are high ceilings and an open floor plan of kitchen, living room and dining area. This creative one bedroom Cottage was designed and modeled off a Mexico theme so you will find it very tastefully decorated with rich colors, textures and art. What makes this one bedroom Cottage special is how the beam structure is exposed and of course the private deck overlooking the flower and vegetable gardens is an added benefit.
The Hobbit House Cottage is an intriguing little summer hideaway. The downstairs of the Lofty Barn was an art studio and is now a cozy setting for an intimate time of reflection. The floor throughout is the feature. It is all hand made with cement and inlaid with tiles, beach stones and pebbles. The Queen bed is situated in front of some old style, French windows where the sun shines in and the views are picture perfect. Sit around the table and watch the garden grow, or be outdoors under the gazebo where the views of the lake and mountain are breathtaking. No illusions here, this is a funky and character filled little place, bathroom with a tub, a Kootenay style outdoor shower and a fully outfitted kitchen ready to enjoy. This Cottage has an additional sleeping area as well as a wood stove in a cozy room for quiet evenings around the fire. Book for summer or consider it or any other Cottage for staying the whole winter.
